
Sunshine was an ordinary girl in Washington, well except she was adopted, but that didn’t cause her any trouble. Until her adoptive mother, Kat, gets accepted to a new job she always wanted, but one problem, it’s in Austin, Texas, a place where Sunshine isn’t welcome to stay. Everything is creepy and surrounded by fog.Right when she enters the house, she begins to experience mysterious noises, cries, giggling of a little girl. It soon becomes clear that someone is haunting their home. Maybe even more than one ghost. And even more frightening, it seems that only Sunshine can sense it. She can’t even believe it, but as the spirits haunting her house become more frightening, it becomes clear that Kat is in danger. Sunshine must accept what she is pass the test that was sent out for her before she was even born. Sunshine meets a classmate along the way , Nolan, who has family ties to the paranormal. Also having feeling for her, he becomes Sunshine’s only friend in Ridgemont, Texas, as well as her partner in crime. Nolan is intelligent, kind and willing to help Sunshine unravel the mysteries that haunts the air of her new home,even being the one who protects her throughout the book. Time is running out and Sunshine has to make a decision, to stop her test and be a normal girl again or to let her mom experience a faith worse than death.
