Things I Cherish

Featured

I cherish food, which is one of the three things I cherish. It’s the thing that actually keeps me alive today. With food, you can just eat it and eat it without realizing you finished it. Helps me even when I’m depressed sometimes.

Another thing I cherish is electronics. The electronics I have all my personal information in it. It helps me when I’m bored anywhere and need something to do. The tablet and laptop I have can help me with my homework and classes also.

The last thing I cherish is my friends . I cherish them because they are always with me no matter what happens.  They make me laugh and smile basically all the time I’m with them. Even though they are sometimes rude and obnoxious. Still, they are loyal and are still me friends.

Throne Of Fire~Book Review

The second book of the series “The Kane Chronicles” Sadie and Carter Kane has been in big trouble. Ever since their dad released all the gods of Ancient Egypt from the last book all over the world, it wasn’t really a normal life the Kanes wanted to live up to. Being the descendants of the  House of Life they had made it a mission to train young magicians at the Brooklyn House. That is, if they can even manage their own magic. Now they have to fight their most threatening and dangerous enemy yet, the snake of chaos, Apophis is waking up from his prison. If they don’t prevent him from breaking free in a matter of days, it’s not only over for the Kane family, but the whole world.

To save the world, Carter and Sadie must revive the sun god Ra. But first, they have to find the three books of Ra, and learn how to say the spells. Only one big problem, they don’t exactly know where Ra is. New magicians, Jasmine ( AKA Jaz),a healer  and Walt, cursed with a deadly disease, makes the plot even more interesting. Tagging along is Bes, the dwarf god, to help protect the children while Bast is away fighting Apophis. Sadie and Carter find the 3 scrolls of Ra, and have to enter the underworld. Once they enter the underworld they have to go in to the different houses of the underworld and the different houses represent the stages of sleep. Once they go through many different houses and get in to the fourth house they get help from Tawaret  to help guide them through the underworld.

Sadie and Carter wake up Ra, but only a part of him, and have to find the other parts to fully awaken him. Soon, they visit their parents in the Underworld to eat and get helpful advice from them on what to do. The Kanes get  visit from their Uncle Anubis, and find out he is now the new Chief Lector and Ra does officially heal the people in the world, but he is not his full self yet. The series continues in the next book, waiting to see if Apophis will destroy the world and what will the Kanes do next. Well, it’s safe to know that everyone is okay, well a majority of people are okay, and to knowing that the world is not ending. Yet. We just have to see in the next book.

This whole experience right now looks like a dream, but trust me it’s not. This is actually real life in the future. Hover-boards have been made ( well almost), and flying cars seem like the new trend. Everything you thought you couldn’t do, you did flawlessly. Just don’t give up in what you believe and that’ s what will get you somewhere. Maybe paying attention a little in your technology classes would have payed off instead of playing games, since technology now is used more than a lot and more advanced. No need for using a keyboard for the computer, or getting up anywhere. Basically, the future is really lazy. Tell you about what you, or I, am doing in the future? Well, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if I told you right now? That is for me to know, and for you to find out, well “I” can find out…..you know what I mean. Just keep on doing what you are doing, you’ll get there, soon enough.

Sunshine was an ordinary girl in Washington, well except she was adopted, but that didn’t cause her any trouble. Until her adoptive mother, Kat, gets accepted to a new job she always wanted, but one problem, it’s in Austin, Texas, a place where Sunshine isn’t welcome to stay. Everything is creepy and surrounded by fog.Right when she enters the house, she begins to experience mysterious noises, cries, giggling of a little girl. It soon becomes clear that someone is haunting their home. Maybe even more than one ghost. And even more frightening, it seems that only Sunshine can sense it. What starts off as small shifts, slamming doors and alarming sounds, quickly goes  into something else much scarier.Sunshine, becomes  determined to prove the paranormal activity her mother seems to just say it is her imagination and should put it to bed. Soon her mother begins to act strangely, and become more far away, breaking their relationship.  In the days that follow, things only get stranger. Sunshine is followed around the house by an icy breeze, phantom wind slams her bedroom door shut, and eventually, the laughter Sunshine hears on her first night turns into sobs and screams. She can’t even believe it, but as the spirits haunting her house become more frightening,  it becomes clear that Kat is in danger. Sunshine must accept what she is pass the test that was sent out for her before she was even born. Sunshine meets a classmate along the way , Nolan, who has family ties to the paranormal. Also having feeling for her, he becomes Sunshine’s only friend in Ridgemont, Texas, as well as her partner in crime. Nolan is intelligent, kind and willing to help Sunshine unravel the mysteries that haunts the air of her new home, even being the one who protects her throughout the book. Time is running out and Sunshine has to make a decision, to stop her test and be a normal girl again or to let her mom experience a faith worse than death.

The author of the book is Paige Mckenzie. A fact about the book is that it was a mini series on Youtube  by the author, soon becoming a novel.
A opinion about the book is that more details about the main character should have been added to it.

Book Review~The Girl Who was Supposed To Die

However, she suddenly gets a instinct to fight back her attacker only taking the gun, car keys, and wallet he had along with her. Just when she thought everything was going to okay and fine, a series of unfortunate events start to happen. Using the name from the attacker’s wallet, the police officer calls up a local one using the name. After getting off the phone, he informed her that she wasn’t actually kidnapped but a person who escaped from the local mental hospital. After hearing this, she takes matters into her own hands and goes back on the road not even knowing where to go and who to trust. When she stops at a local McDonald’s for food, she meets a guy name Ty who promises to stay with her and recover her memories, and most importantly, believes she is not a mental psychopath. They go through a journey darker than they realize, bit by bit, finding out the secrets hidden this whole time. Her parents actually working for a company that discover a disease that can kill local farmers , but the bright side is they discovered a cure for it. The down side is now that the company figured out they do, they were going to spread the disease over a football stadium full of people for everyone can get it, giving them more money. When her parents figured out what they were doing and what could happen to the cure and them if they figured out how to make it, they fled along with her little brother. The company supervisor interrogating her to say where they are to great lengths, even pretending that her brother is dead, making her to go to shock and making Cadence’s brain to shut down, not remembering anything. Not only that but her brother was infected with the disease. In the end, Ty and Cadence destroyed the lab the company was harvesting the antidote they were trying to make and stop the company once and for all. Letting it all be a happy ending and Ty and Cadence being together.

The author of the book is April Henry. A fact about this story is that Ty actually have a dark past where his father died and his mom married his boss, being kicked out of their home he had to live in the streets, until he made a friend and became roommates with him. A opinion of this story is that even though it is very short, only having 213 pages ( not including the acknowledgements ) but the book itself makes up for it.
